Starkey Ranch
The Client
Starkey Ranch is a new 2400 acre Master Planned Community located in Odessa, Florida. Recognized as for it’s neighborhoods being centered on parks and being interconnected with trails. The community will feature a K-8 school, 40 acre downtown village, 23 acre business park, 20,000 square foot library and an expansive district park for athletic activities and recreation.
The Challenge
Starkey Ranch is one of Pasco County’s newest and highest profile communities. The land being used for the community has a long history as one of the largest cattle ranches in the area, and was operational until 2003. In keeping with the rustic image for the ranch, it was the goal of the new community to have many of the historical elements reflected in the property’s site furnishings. The goal was to create new site furnishings from materials that would appear they have been on the ranch for many years, but yet still be functional for every day use.
The solution
Site Essentials worked closely with the landscape architecture firm, Dix.Hite & Partners, to create a coordinated site furnishings package . By combining ipe wood, which weathers gracefully, with steel we were able to achieve custom product designs that satisfied the desired look for the community. Not only were we able to provide a complete custom site furnishings package with high end materials, we were able to supply it for a third of the cost when compared to some of the popular national brands.
In the end, Site Essentials was able to successfully provide bollards, benches, picnic tables, trash receptacles, bike racks and pet refreshment stations that met the unique desired look for the property.
